My Latest Crave
Haystacks
11oz Nestle Butterscoth Morsels
3/4 c creamy peanut butter
1 can (8.5oz) or 2 cans (50z) chow mein noodles
3 1/2 mini marshmellows
Wax paper
Melt butterscotch (on stove or in microwave) until smooth, stir in PB until well-blended; add chow mein noodles and marshmallows until coated; drop into "haystacks" on wax paper; refrigerate (optional--I think). Nuts optional too.
Oh my. I'm not a fan of butterscotch, but this flavor (combined with the crispness of the noodles and marshmallows) is novel and divine.

Oh, my, what a recipe. It sounds great, except for the fact I've never liked peanut butter. Really.
I bet it could happen without PB.
Can I share a similar confection which I, in my youth, often indulged? We called it "White Trash" and the recipe goes something like this:
Melt one pound of white chocolate in a crock pot with one regular sized jar of creamy peanut butter. Stir until smooth.
Then, into the largest mixing bowl imaginable, pour the contents of one box Golden Grahams, one jar unsalted peanuts, and one box raisins. Stir well, and then pour over this mess the white chocolate / peanut butter mix. Stir very well and don't let it solidify.
Then, pour over this one box of powdered sugar and stir well until you have small clumps of white tasty goodness. Hence: "white trash."
Delicious. Somewhere in the neighborhood of billion calories, but there was a time, not so long ago, when I wasn't even counting.
Is this your invention or is it a recipe found elsewhere? Because if it is yours...you should market it. I don't like peanut butter either...but it sonds interesting enough to try.
haystacks are sooo yummy!
SUGAR!
I LOVE peanut butter....and butterscotch....and marshmellows.....:)
Sumo--I wish I had invented these--I do believe they are rather "new"--I believe you would know.
Mmmmmm Invisible, sounds good, even if the name of the goodie is quite offensive . . .
PQ--be sure to try them if you can!
Hadn't even considered that the name might be offensive. Perhaps I'm too close to the subject matter.
WARNING: DO NOT ADD TOO MANY NOODLES.
Thankyou.
[Invis: it's my job to think about stuff like that.]
(Unrelated to this topic, but I comment here since I can't there... I would most definitely post a pic of my favorite ornament. I even know which one I would choose.)
I am so glad you printed this...now I know what I forgot when I tried to make these......
The marshmallows!!!!!!
