where do you and I fit in?

Providing reparations to any group sets a tricky precedent - my people were victimized by the Huns in 1066 - where's my check?

2008-1066= 942 years, 31 generations--who would sign the check?

2008-1969= 39 years, 1.5 generations, people affected are still alive--Australia signs the check.

2008-1865= 133 years, 4 generations--direct correlation between history of slavery and poverty? should 4 generations be enough time to equal out the economic playing field? statue of limitation?

Tricky precedent? you betcha. yet, so was granting $1000 to people who live in Alaska or admitting that tobacco kills or opening the door to doubling the population vote in 1920 with women (who knew how that could have turned out!). . .

thank goodness we have an elective legistative body we pay to figure out the fine details of how to go about "what's right" (which is another big Q!).
