Weeping Willows, Batman

Tim wrote:

I smell vertigo and bullshit (you have vertigo, and are dangerously close to wanting the bullshit at the bottom). Time doesn't really heal anything. And acting like nothing ever happened is the worst strategy I know off. Honestly. And is lightness something to be sought after?

But everything is not lost.

And I feel pricked.

It's sounds so trite; but I wasn't trying to be mean and I'm not out to get you; in fact I'm concerned about you, SQ, I just don't want you to make the same mistakes I have in difficult situations. I didn't mean to demean your friend's letter, and I don't mean to be cruel to you either. I wanted you to hear an alternative to the treacily feel-good stuff about time and forgetting--because I deeply believe that those things aren't deeply true or effective. I'm sorry if I've hurt you.

Tim & et ali.:

I have a spy in my office who is desperately trying to figure out where my blog is so that she can "expose" me--she walked up behind me before I could finish this post! (I must have just hit the "publish" button.)

Then I was off to class; now, I can finish:

"And I feel pricked.
Weeping even,
the metaphor of vertigo
is both embarrassingly poignant, and yet somehow hopeful . . .

plus, I am always grateful to be warned of/from pending bullshit.

This comment somehow touches me,
because I sorely want to weep--
instead of feeling so stoney and cold."

Well, something like that. The moment is past--but the comment has haunted me on the drive home.

Emma:
I believe twentysomething_Tim and I may have a mutual Friend in common; therefore, I value very much what he has to say.

As I do you, who appears very misterious indeed . . . .

Feeling pricked
can be good--especially
if one is feeling numb.
