I generally think rhetorical questions like that are a complete waste of time, because there is no answer, not even an answer that can be close.
I suppose exploring a historic potential reality that has no chance of existence because its start date lies in the past is frustrating. No truth, no falsity, no possibility for either--smells like kitschy armchair philosophizing to me.
